FAQ - Eä Mining Federation

— What is the difference between a node and a pool?

A node is a server (personal computer) that generates computational confirmation of the chronological order of the work done by the miners (computing devices). By default, a node is a node of a distributed network, it exchanges information with other nodes (nodes), synchronizing it. A pool is a site available on the Internet and providing services for connecting third-party bitcoin mining participants to a server (node) for joint bitcoin mining.

How to choose a mining pool

— How to choose between a centralized and decentralized pool?

The first thing to decide is to choose between a centralized and decentralized mining pool business model. To date, all pools are centralized, with the exception of the recently emerged decentralized blockchain pool Eä.

The choice among centralized pools usually comes down to choosing a revenue accrual model. There are quite a few of these models, the most common are the following:

  • PPS — Pay Per Share
  • FPPS — Full Pay Per Share
  • PPLNS — Pay Per Last (N)umber of Shares

As for the reasons to choose a decentralized pool, they are listed in the section «About the project» и «Еä White Paper».

— How to choose in a blockchain pool between creating your own node and working in an already created node?

If you have chosen a new generation pool - a decentralized pool, then the next step is to choose between the options of creating your own node (own pool on the blockchain) or joining one of the nodes (pools) already created on the blockchain.

If you join an already created node, then you will receive a commission for the block you found. If you choose to create your own node, then you will receive a commission from each block found by the miners attached to the node you created. The scheme of shares can be viewed in the «
